Team True Spiritwas formed in 2011 with the aim of providing an opportunity for a group of recovering injured servicemen, together with a support team of rehabilitation physio's, civilians and volunteers with a chance to achieve something special and to raise awareness of what faces them in their road to recovery.
In 2011 and again in 2012 the team completed the "Ironman UK Triathlon" held in Bolton, Lancashire - one of the hardest single day endurance events in the world and have raised nearly £60,000 for the military charities that support them and their families.
The aims of Team True Spirit are to raise awareness of the new battles these servicemen now face and to generate financial support to help them and those close to them. Team True Spirit allow these injured servicemen the chance to do amazing things and to prove they can bounce back.
The following video clip was put together before, during and after the team completed Ironman UK last year and it gives you an insight into what we do, how we do it and why we do it.
